Green Knights Head to Whitewater for NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional

DE PERE - St. Norbert College will face Luther College Thursday in the first round of the eight-team NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional held at UW-Whitewater.

The Green Knights (30-6) are the eighth seeding in the regional and will face No. 1-seeding Luther College (37-5) at 10 a.m. Thursday at van Steenderen Diamond.

St. Norbert is making its third NCAA Division III regional appearance. The Green Knights, who have won 25 of their last 26 games, are 0-4 all-time in the tournament, also making appearances in 2007 and 2009.

Other first-round games Thursday include No. 4 Carthage College (24-13) against No. 4 Alma College (30-9) at noon. St. Norbert will face either the winner or loser of that game at 10 a.m. or 2 p.m. Friday. The bottom half of the bracket includes No. 2 UW-La Crosse (36-7) against No. 7 Aurora University (35-7) at 4 p.m. and No. 3 University of Redlands (32-12) against No. 6 Augustana College (30-13) at 2 p.m.

The tournament is scheduled to run through Monday, May 17, with the champion advancing to the NCAA Division III Championship starting Friday, May 21 at Gelein Field in Eau Claire.
