Green Knights Tumble to Ripon
DE PERE - Ripon College pulled off a 1-0 upset win over St. Norbert College in a Midwest Conference women's soccer match at the Minahan Stadium Complex.
The win was the Red Hawks' (1-8, 1-3 MWC) first win of the season and also their first win over St. Norbert in the history of the series. St. Norbert (4-5, 2-1 MWC) was 32-0 in the series entering the match.
Ripon scored the game's lone marker at 8:29 when Jessica Martzahl scored off an assist from Alice Fehlandt. The Red Hawks' defense would made that goal stand up over the next 81 minutes.
St. Norbert outshot Ripon 18-5 but could not find the back of the net. Corner kicks were even 3-3.
Brenda Zastrow made five saves and Angelica Cooper one for Ripon. Cara Tazioli made three saves for the Green Knights.
