Dan Lukes is in his tenth year as sports information director at St. Norbert College.
A member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA),
Lukes' 2000-2001 and 2004-2005 hockey media guides were judged Best in the Nation in Division B/C, while his 1999-2000 and 2002-03 hockey media guides was judged as having the best cover nationally in Division B/C. He also was a member of the Midwest Conference Championships Committee from 2000 to 2005, and was the interim chair of the league’s sports information directors during the 2006-07 school year.
Lukes arrived at St. Norbert College after a six-month stint in 1999 as a sports reporter at the Marquette Mining Journal in Marquette, Mich., the largest newspaper in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
Lukes, an Algoma native, received a B.S. in journalism with a minor in political science in 1998 from UW-Oshkosh. During his undergraduate studies, Lukes was a student assistant in the sports information office. He also worked as a part-time sports reporter at the Oshkosh Northwestern.
Lukes is also the coach of the successful De Pere American Legion baseball program, leading the team to Wisconsin Class AAA state championships in 2003 and 2004. He lives in De Pere.
