Alumni Profile: Erica (Rude) Artiles

Erica (Rude) Artiles graduated from St. Norbert College in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and majors in English and Business Administration. She also attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana where she received her Masters of Arts in English and later her Ph.D. in Renaissance literature. She regularly teaches first year composition as well as courses in Renaissance poetry and prose, Spenser, and Shakespeare.

Apart from her teaching responsibilities, Erica is currently working on several articles as well as a book focusing on the built environment in Spenser’s Faerie Queene. She also serves on a number of departmental and campus wide committees and advises several students.

While at St. Norbert, Erica was actively involved in various English department activities and residential life.
