Alumni Profile: Matt Barnes
Matt Barnes is a Cost Analyst employed by Schreiber Foods, Inc. in Clinton, Mo.
Based in Green Bay, Schreiber Foods is the world's largest private label cheese company. The company supplies process, natural, cream cheese and yogurt to McDonalds, Wal-Mart, Sysco, Subway, Supervalu, US Foodservice and many others. Matt provides financial analysis and support to Schreiber’s shredded cheese facility in Clinton, Mo. and their string cheese facility in Ravenna, NE.
As a Cost Analyst, Matt is responsible for analyzing and driving waste out of converting processes, quoting new product costs to customers, preparing financial statements and managing a finance support staff. In addition to his financial duties, Matt works closely with his plant leadership team to ensure safety, quality, productivity, waste and order completion goals are met.
After completing his education at St. Norbert College, Matt began his career as an intern in the capital finance department of ShopKo Stores in Green Bay. He was hired by Schreiber Foods in 2003 to be a financial analyst at their Home Office location in Green Bay, and relocated to his current position in 2004. Schreiber Foods recruits heavily from St. Norbert College and provides opportunities in converting, sales, marketing, finance, operations, human resources and administration in locations throughout the world.
