Alumni Profile: Mike Dauplaise
Mike Dauplaise was already working at the Green Bay Press-Gazette when he graduated in 1984 with a B.A. in Communications. His 13-year newspaper career included time in the sports, news, features and copy desk departments, providing a broad range of experience from which to draw.
After stops at the Wausau Daily Herald and the Green Bay News-Chronicle, as well as a return trip to the Press-Gazette, Mike went into the less hectic corporate communications world at St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center in Green Bay. He immediately began contributing as a freelance writer for local and regional newspapers and magazines, including St. Norbert Magazine, and that business continued to grow.
Eventually, corporate and publication demand was sufficient to allow Mike to become a full-time, home-based freelance writer. His regular corporate clients include Schreiber Foods, Nicolet National Bank, and Direct Development Inc., with a variety of additional clients subcontracted through public relations and video production firms. Project include everything from articles, brochures and other print pieces, to Web projects and video scripts.
Mike is a current board member and past president of the Friends of the Brown County Library and the Greater Green Bay Optimist Club. |
