Alumni Profile: Jeremy Doughty

Jeremy graduated from St. Norbert College in May 2005 with a triple major in International Studies, German, and Political Science. During his time at St. Norbert, Jeremy studied abroad at Westfaelische Wilhelms-Universitaet in Muenster, Germany. He was also involved with Tau Kappa Epsilon (Fraternity) and Phi Beta Delta (Honor Society for International Scholars).

Following his graduation from St. Norbert, Jeremy served as a United States Peace Corps Volunteer in Ukraine from October 2005 until Decemeber 2007. Jeremy volunteered in Nova Ushytsia, a rural town located in southwestern Ukraine near the Romanian border.  His primary assignment was teaching English as a second language to children in grades five through eleven. Jeremy also took part in a number of secondary projects, including: coordinating after-school English clubs, organizing and assisting with summer camps, volunteering at a school for orphans and children with hearing differences, and establishing the Nova Ushytsia Gymnasium - English Education Center.

Upon Jeremy's return to the United States, he worked as an instructor at the St. Norbert College ESL Institute for eight months. In the autumn of 2008, Jeremy moved to Brattleboro, Vermont, where he attended the SIT Graduate Institute. After completing his coursework for his MA in International Education, Jeremy returned to De Pere, Wisconsin. He is currently the Study Abroad Advisor at St. Norbert.
