Alumni Profile: Heather (Olm) Dunn
Heather (Olm) Dunn, Class of '01 (B.A. Mathematics) is a Certified Public Accountant and Supervisory Senior Auditor with Ernst & Young LLP in Milwaukee.
Ernst & Young LLP is a "big four" accounting firm with 107,000 people in 140 countries around the globe who provide clients with a broad array of services relating to audit and risk-related services, tax, and transactions. Heather works in the Financial Services Industry on external audit engagements for insurance companies and banks. Recently she has been working as acting manager on both public and private clients such as WellPoint, Inc., National Guardian Life Insurance, SECURA Insurance, Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company, and Johnson Bank.
While still in school at St. Norbert, Heather had two summer actuarial internships with Allstate Insurance and Aid Association for Lutherans (now Thrivent Financial). Wanting to leverage her math and business majors in the accounting arena, Heather started her career with E&Y right after graduation by entering their Your Master Plan program. E&Y sent Heather to school at the University of Notre Dame for two summers to earn her Master of Science in Accountancy degree in 2002, whereby she was eligible to sit for the CPA exam.
Although her schedule requires traveling outside of the Milwaukee area on a regular basis, Heather has found time to enjoy what Milwaukee has to offer by getting involved in the Young Professionals of Milwaukee, the Skylighters board for the Skylight Opera Company, and her church choir. She credits St. Norbert with providing her with a broad background in which to adapt to a professional career environment that requires a variety of skill sets along with a strong appreciation for community involvement outside of the professional arena. |
