Kate graduated from St. Norbert College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Spanish. During her time at SNC, Kate participated in basketball, softball, and study abroad. After graduation, Kate moved to California and taught Spanish at Paraclete High School. She also coached girl’s varsity basketball and softball, and worked to establish the school’s first-ever development office.
In 1994, Kate earned her MBA from the University of Redlands in California. She moved back to Wisconsin in 1996, and worked as the coordinator of Minor League Operations for the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club. She was responsible for coordinating year-round, off-field matters, including contracts, payroll, insurance, and serving as liaison for the club’s Dominican and Venezuelan baseball academies. She also coordinated Spring Training, Instructional League, and served as the primary contact for each of the club’s six minor league affiliates. She put her SNC Spanish degree to use every day, serving as the primary bilingual contact for Spanish-speaking players and coaches.
In 2005, Kate completed the K-12 Spanish Teacher Certification Program at Marquette University, and returned to teaching at St. John Vianney School in Brookfield, WI. She worked to help students in grades K-8 learn and make connections to the Spanish influences in their world, nation, and local communities.
Kate has kept her connection with SNC by serving as the Assistant Women’s Softball Coach and as a member of the Alumni Board. She stays active in the community, volunteering at Leaven, Inc., a service organization that provides emergency financial, referral and service coordination assistance to persons in crisis who have basic needs that cannot be met elsewhere. In addition, she volunteers at her children’s school, chairs the St. Pius X School Effectiveness Team, coordinates the school’s athletic programs, assists as a parish Eucharistic minister, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers Baseball Club.
