Alumni Profile: Thomas Hurley
Tom, an SNC graduate of 1985, is currently the Midwest Regional Manager for a private national community corrections company overseeing reentry centers for high risk probation and parolees in the states of Illinois, Kansas and Missouri for state and county department's of correction. He has spent over sixteen years in the field of community corrections starting with the Cook County Adult Probation Department before moving on to working for BI Incorporated, the nation’s leading provider of offender monitoring and reentry services.
As an active leader of BI Incorporated, Tom works to further the business’ evidence based model that is founded on national criminal justice research. While at SNC, he built a solid foundation for his professional career with his undergraduate experiences which derived from a steady balance of academics, campus ministry, work study (at the Student Union) and civic leadership (serving as the President of BMMP).
Since graduating, Tom has continued to build on his foundation by serving God through a variety of ministries which include youth ministry, racial reconciliation, and teaching Bible studies and prayer classes. He believes that his call to the field of corrections is more than a passion for his work; it is a direct calling from God.
Tom has been married for more than fourteen years to his wife Joyce. They have two children, Joshua and Rebekah, and live on the southside of Chicago.
