Alumni Profile: Kalin LeBrun

Kalin graduated from St. Norbert College in May of 2008 with a degree in English and an emphasis in Creative Writing. During her college career, Kalin was the Editor-in-Chief for Graphos, the college’s literary magazine, and worked at the Writing Center. She was also actively involved in Sigma Tau Delta, the English Honor Society, and served as its Public Relations Officer from 2007-2008.

In the summer of 2008, following graduation, Kalin moved back home to Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was an Advertising and Promotions Intern at the newspaper, The Onion. She helped organize and promote events around the city, and wrote letters to different businesses and companies around the metro area to request sponsorship and advertising space in the paper. In addition to working for The Onion, Kalin also did freelance writing for a family friend. She wrote copy for the company’s website and helped organize events to promote the business.

In September of 2008, Kalin moved again—back to Green Bay where she served an intern in the creative department at Arketype, Inc., a small award-winning advertising agency. As a intern, Kalin did numerous things for the agency, but she was mostly focused on copywriting—such as revising the text on an existing website or creating taglines. She also conducted research for the agency and created reports and summaries from said research.

Kalin currently holds the position of Public Relations and Fundraising Specialist at ACA International, a trade organization that represents the credit and debt collection industry, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Within the organization, she works with the ACA International Education Foundation (ACAEF), a nonprofit philanthropic division aimed at serving consumers to improve financial literacy. As the point person for all public relations activities, Kalin assists in fundraising efforts and often creates and executes public relations campaigns to support ACAEF. She also oversees the ACAEF Communications and PR Committee and serves as the staff liaison between ACA International members and ACAEF in all PR-related matters.
