Alumni Profile: Tripp Maher

After graduating in the winter of 1980, Tripp began his marketing career with A.C. Nielsen in Green Bay. After 7 plus years there, Tripp moved to Zwicker Knitting Mills in Appleton as a merchandising specialist for the children’s and men’s lines. He made a modest career change and spent the next 6 years in sales working for a small IBM Business Partner (2 years) and Modern Business Machines (4 years) covering a variety of territories in Northeast Wisconsin.  

In August of 1998 Tripp returned to St. Norbert College in the Advancement Office and during his time here he has been involved with the St. Norbert Fund, Director of Donor Relations, a Senior Advancement Officer and in 2007 added to his responsibilities the revitalization of the Planned Giving program. As a Senior Advancement Officer, Tripp interacts with alumni and friends of the College to help grow the endowment, fund building projects, provide facilities that further enhance educational opportunities for students, and support programmatic initiatives to enrich the academic quality of the institution. Outside the midwest, Tripp has traveled to the East Coast, Texas and Colorado to share the priorities and projects of the College.

Tripp was also a coach for the SNC Women’s Basketball team from 1979 – 1985 and again from 1995 – 1999.  He has served on the board of the Green Bay Boy Choir (VP and President), the Green Bay Southwest Music Parent Association (VP and Treasurer), Green Bay Chamber Choir at St. Norbert College (VP) and is currently on the Northeast Wisconsin Dance Organization (NEWDO) board.  He has been involved with the Brown County United Way in fund distribution and served as the first Youth Impact Council Chair for three years.  He serves as a lay minister at Old St. Joe’s Church and along with his wife, Lori (also class of 1980), has participated in the Marriage Prep program for engaged couples. 

Tripp and Lori have three children, Bobby (2006), Annie (2008) and Molly (2012).
