Erin Nitka graduated from St. Norbert in 2000 with a degree in English and Communication, Media and Theater. She uses both degrees in her current profession. Recently, she purchased her first home in Greendale, Wis.

As a technical writer for the U.S. Bank Trust division, Erin works closely with her training team to assess learners' needs and develop training material that can assist them on the job. She creates and maintains procedures, manuals, job aids and workflows for various bank projects and technology tools. The team is leading the effort to transition traditional "stand-up" training to an online, web-based environment. Erin is working to create eLearning tools that learners can access and work through independently.

Along with working at U.S. Bank, Erin is an English instructor at Bryant and Stratton College in Milwaukee, Wis. After earning her Masters in Literature from Marquette University, she began teaching a Research & Composition and Literature class at the college. Because Bryant and Stratton is a career-focused college, her work experience, along with her academic background, provides Erin with the opportunity to share real-world knowledge with students entering the work force.

This year she developed and taught an online literature course. While this online learning environment proved to be much different than the small class discussion she enjoyed at St. Norbert, the students were able to achieve a new appreciation for twentieth century authors.
