Alumni Profile: Trisha Shepherd

Trisha (Whitkanack) Shepherd, SNC Class of ’96, works as Marketing Communications Manager for Riley Children’s Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health in Indianapolis. Her duties include editing Riley Messenger magazine, creating and maintaining a Riley blog and assisting with many publications and special events.

Trisha joined Riley in 2011 after working for 15 years as a television news journalist at WRTV in Indianapolis, WHOTV in Des Moines, Iowa, and WCIA in Champaign, Illinois. She received a Society of Professional Journalists first-place award for Best Coverage of Minority Issues for a 2011 WRTV special report on women in politics, and previously accepted Illinois Broadcasters Association Silver Dome awards for her work in investigative reporting and children’s issues.

Trisha graduated Summa Cum Laude from St. Norbert College in 1996 with a B.A. in Communications, Media & Theatre. Trisha continues to pursue her acting interests with professional stage roles at Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre in Indianapolis and frequent singing appearances. She is a proud mother of three, and writes a parenting blog for IndysChild.com.
