Requirements for Hiring a St. Norbert College Intern

• Inform Jenny Schroth, Assistant Director of Internships, that you have hired an SNC student intern.
• Review and implement Guidelines for Supervisors of SNC Interns.
• Discuss with your new intern the required St. Norbert College Internship Learning Agreement, which is to be completed by the intern.  A new learning agreement is required for each summer and academic year.  View tips for drafting a learning agreement and an example.  Within one week of the intern's start date, send the completed learning agreement to:

• Midway through the semester or summer, you may be asked to meet with the Internship Coordinator or Faculty Sponsor, for a site visit.  This will be an opportunity to discuss learning goal progress, address any concerns, and to ensure the intern is receiving a quality experience.
• Approximately one week prior to the end of EACH school term (semester or summer), complete a supervisor evaluation of your intern's work.  Please review the evaluation with your intern.  
• The supervisor and student should retain copies of all forms.
• Unpaid internships should ensure compliance with the U.S. Department of Labor.
