Intern Profile: Heather Brosig
Since March of 2007, I have interned with Schreiber Foods. I was only a first year student at the time so I was really unsure of how it was going to work out and what was expected of me. I took a shot at the position and hoped it would be worthwhile. After being with the company for a little over a year now, I could not have asked for a better experience.
My internship responsibilities have a significant impact on the company. It is not just copying papers and filing. I work in Demand Planning where I forecast products and follow up with stock reports. I interact cross-functionally through miscellaneous projects with other departments and have been able to grow as a student and as a productive member of the Schreiber team.
In addition, I have gained tremendous experience in Economics and Business. It has helped me in the classroom setting to make clarifying connections. Also, being in such a highly professional and respected setting I have been able to grow into a more professional role. By having an open mind and willingness to ask questions and learn, my internship has provided me with amazing learning opportunities. My internship has definitely helped me prepare for a successful future in Business and Economics. I would, without a doubt, recommend all students to have an internship. These types of opportunities are well worth every second put into them!
