I interned at Schmidt & Associates, A financial advisory
practice of Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc. because I wanted to
increase my financial knowledge by working in a small business environment. This was a great opportunity to learn how to
work with fellow employees, network with clients, and increase my experience in
the area of finance. My internship
responsibilities included organizing work events, where I was able to learn how
to work in a team with fellow employees.
I also learned how to navigate through the company's network and became
more familiar with using financial terms in the real world. During this time I gained experience in how
to build professional relationships and learned more about financial planning. By using and developing my communication skills,
I also became better at working in a small business environment. I feel my internship has prepared me and has
helped me develop as a professional by allowing me to experience opportunities
that will only benefit me in the future as I decide what career path I want to
pursue.
