Intern Profile: Montriesia (Mo) Gourrier
I
interned at the division of College Advancement at St. Norbert College because I was
interested in understanding business operations and event planning. This was a
great opportunity to build on my leadership experience and management
practices.
My internship responsibilities included creating a student fund
template, helping create a four year student giving plan,
marketing our philanthropy program, hosting events, and assisting in alumni and
donor events. Through these responsibilities, I was able to develop business etiquette, planning and
organization skills, and marketing tactics.
During this time, I gained
experience in business management and marketing. I also learned more about grant
writing, proposals, and building relationships. By using organization and
communication skills, I became better at becoming confident in my ability
to contribute to developments within our department.
I feel my internship has
prepared me for my future as I plan to obtain my MBA and has helped me develop
as a professional by inspiring me to pursue a career in college advancement,
management, or perhaps an event coordinator.
