Intern Profile: Jess Heemeyer
Through my internship at Fox River Fiber, I was able to gain experience in an office setting and be exposed to the accounting lifestyle. As the accounting intern, I was responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. During the summer I also managed parts and engine inventory and ordered the necessary parts for maintenance.
While working at Fox River Fiber, I was able to experience all aspects of accounting. The company, while large in sales volume, only employs 55. Although I was an accounting intern, I was the financial accountant’s replacement for two months. During this time I was entrusted with the daily financial activities of the company while still managing a 20 credit course load and volleyball season. Although hectic, my experiences at Fox River Fiber solidified for me why I want to pursue accounting as my career.
