I interned at Break Away because I had been connected with the
organization since 2007 as a TRIPS Intern.
This was a great opportunity to put my experiences and skills into
practice at the national level, rather than in a small setting.
My internship
responsibilities included administering and analyzing the
2010 National Chapter Survey, where I was able to present my findings to the
Board of Directors in Washington, DC this past April.
During this time I
gained experience in survey and data collection and presentation skills and
learned more about connecting and networking with other organizations and
professionals. I also learned how to effectively communicate and work together
across long distances as the internship is based out of Atlanta, GA.
I feel my internship
has prepared me for my future and has helped me develop as a professional by
giving me experience working for a national non-profit in a field that aligns
with my values and beliefs.
