Intern Profile: Audrey O'Hern As a member of the Leadership, Service and Involvement (LSI) Office I have been given the responsibilities to manage the 100 Men Who Cook event, to develop recognition programs for Student Organizations, and to establish an alternative way to arrange Student Organization activity information.
Being an intern at St. Norbert College has been not only a rewarding opportunity for me, but also an eye-opening experience. Working in the LSI Office has provided me with a new type of work environment and has given me a better way to manage different responsibilities and tasks. Not only am I able to set up and attend different committee meetings, but I am also more confident in leading them! This internship has allowed me to meet and work with a wide variety of new people and to learn from our similarities and differences.
I learned of the Service Events position by simply looking at the LSI web-page and finding an opening. What I gained from just taking a quick look is a lot more than I had ever anticipated. Never again will I underestimate the impact such a simple act can have! Though my experience as an intern is fairly young, I would encourage fellow students to take the opportunity to apply for an assortment of internships. It has provided me with a better idea of what direction I want to go in terms of other internships and a future career! |
