I interned at Teencentral.net because I think it is important to get to know the troubles that are facing teens and young adults today. This was a great opportunity for me to learn about the complexities of our world and how different people learn to cope. It was important for me to have an internship in which I could not only help the association but also profoundly affect those who use its’ services.
During my internship I was responsible for reading stories that teens and young adults submitted and responding within 24 hours to help counsel them through their problem or time of need. I was able to counsel a wide variety of stories, lifestyles, and people from many different areas around the U.S.A.
I feel my internship has prepared me for my future plans as a criminologist. My understanding and empathizing with these problems led me to better understand why things happen the way they do and what are common catalysts. This internship helped me to confirm that I want to go ahead with my goal of becoming a criminologist and working with troubled people whom have turned to the life of crime. Interning is something every student should experience.
