I have been extremely fortunate to have been
given the opportunity to have a cooperative work experience in the Formulation
Science division at Kimberly-Clark Corporation. My time at Kimberly-Clark has
been a first-hand, eye-opening experience into the world of cosmetic
science. At Kimberly-Clark I have spent
time researching raw materials and learned how to apply them in formulations.
In addition to formulation application, I have also learned the importance of
cost, experimental design, and application of scientific principles. Most
recently, I had the opportunity to attend a cosmetic tradeshow hosted by the
Society of Cosmetic Chemists with my colleagues at Kimberly-Clark. Listening to
the presentations and interacting with a slew of cosmetic and personal care
scientists has made me aware of the vast world of cosmetic science and the many
possible career routes to be pursued in this field. My experience at
Kimberly-Clark has been invaluable because it continually reconfirms that this
is the career area I want to be in!
