Career Exploration Day
An opportunity to learn about the career paths and occupational tasks of numerous professional opportunities in an informal setting. Learn about career options from professionals in the field.  Click here for details.

Choosing Your Major
Undecided about a major? Trying to sort out conflicting and confusion information about what you can do with a major? Wondering when you need to decide about a major? Thinking about the best elective courses to take to supplement a major? Wondering if a minor is necessary? This workshop covers all of these questions and more.

Conversations About Careers: What's Possible, What's Practical, What Works! 
Discuss with SNC Alum, Betsy Buckley, your aspirations about your career goals; get her tips and suggestions about the best approaches to achieve your career goals.

Developing Your Internship
Do you want to hear from a fellow student who is interning about the experience? Do you need to know how the internship process works at St. Norbert College? This workshop should answer the questions you might have regarding this important piece in your educational process.

Developing Your Job Search Strategy
Where are the jobs? How do I find them? When should I start looking? What can I do now? All good questions for sure. This workshop emphasizes a comprehensive approach to job searching, the importance of being focused, where to find jobs, the hidden job market, networking and what the Career Services office can do for you.

Etiquette and Attire Program
Confused about which fork, knife, glass to use at a business dinner? Don't embarrass yourself and loose a chance at getting the job offer. This informative program, which includes dinner, will teach you the correct way to handle yourself and the silverware, too! Are you worried about how to dress? Proper business attire will be shown and discussed. Bring your questions!

For Freshman Only
Consisting of two sessions that focus on self assessment and career exploration, this program will provide students the opportunity to explore interests and natural enthusiasms, their personality preferences, their gifts/talents and personal and work related values. Exploring and sharing these issues with peers provides a level of comfort by reinforcing the notion that career developmental concerns and anxieties are not something unique to them.

Gaining Admission to Graduate School
Do you have questions concerning admission to graduate school and how to maximize your learning outcomes once you get there? At this workshop, you will receive information regarding before you go considerations, additional questions to ask yourself, resources to help in reflection and insights in terms of graduate school administration and attendance. If you are considering attending graduate school now or in the future, this is a must-attend offering.

Interviewing Skills
Nervous about what will happen during your job interview? Want to know how to make a great first impression with employers? Attend this workshop to learn how to get the job offer and impress even the toughest of interviewers! Bring your questions, and sign up for a mock interview after this session.

Interviewing Skills for Teachers
This workshop is offered prior to the Mock Interview Relay for Teachers to help students prepare for the big event. The primary intent of the Mock Interview Relay for Teachers is to give teacher education candidates the opportunity to practice their interview skills; however, based on their skills, many students end up making positive contacts which result in teaching offers later. This workshop will help student prepare for the relay and enhance the impressions they leave with school administrators. A local school administrator will be present to offer thoughts and insight on interviewing.

It's Not Too Late!  Job Search Workshop for Seniors
A workshop just for seniors at all stages of the job search process.  Workshop outcomes include: creation of a targeted resume and cover letter, identification of skills employers seek, interview preparation, effective job search strategies.

Job Search on the Internet
Surf you way to links that can provide the job openings and career information that you're looking for. Learn about some new resources to best utilize the internet in your job search. Save time and become more efficient by using the Career Services web page to help you get to web sites of value quickly.

Life After SNC: Senior Orientation
Welcome to your senior year!  Attend this workshop to learn more about how Career Services can assist you in your final year at SNC.  Topics covered include: the job search, internships, graduate school, resume/cover letter writing and more.  This workshop will provide an overview of the services offered from Career Services.   

Mock Interviews
Practice makes perfect or at least close. Consider experiencing an individualized mock interview with a Career Services staff member. Of course you can partner with a friend as well, taking turns answering and observing. We'll use our interview suites and videotape you while you answer a few questions, and then critique your interview. In addition to these individualized mock interviews, Career Services hosts a Mock Interview Night which is conducted by human resource professionals.

Mock Interview Relay for Teachers
Traditionally held in March, this workshop provides teacher education candidates the opportunity to practice their interview skills and network with school administrators. Students are given the opportunity to have three 30 minute interviews with different administrators; with each including a feedback session at the end.

Orientation to WorkForce
Orientation to WorkForce is an workshop held just prior to WorkForce, the premier job and internship fair sponsored by the Wisconsin Private College Career Consortium (WIPCCC), which is held annually in Milwaukee. The workshop details what students should do in preparing for the fair, what they should expect and do at the fair and what they should do after the fair. Typically over 100 employers attend this fair, so it definitely pays to be well-prepared.

Resume and Cover Letter Writing
What are employers looking for in a resume? Learn how to construct and tailor your resume to that specific position you want to land. You'll learn how to target your cover letter as well to best market yourself and get your foot in the door for the interview. Bring your questions and resume/cover letter drafts!

Successful Candidate Sessions
Students learn the nuts and bolts of how to participate in various programs as well as how to be the highly qualified and well prepared candidates that employers seek. The sessions are offered in Career Services weekly.

Teach for America
Teach for America is the national corps of outstanding recent college graduates and professionals of all academic majors and career interests who commit two years to teach in urban and rural public schools and become leaders in the effort to expand educational opportunity. Learn about this outstanding opportunity from a representative of the organization.
