Classical Studies Requirements

 
Classical Studies Minor: Students may obtain a Classical Studies minor by successfully completing six courses. These include two required history courses, one Greek or Latin reading course at the 203 level, and a choice of interdisciplinary electives.

Required:
HS 326: History of Ancient Greece
HS 328: History of Ancient Rome
Either LT 203: Readings in Latin; or GK 203: Readings in Greek

Electives:
AR 320: History of Classical Sculpture and Architecture
PL 207: Greek Philosophy
PL/PO 314: Classical and Medieval Political Thought
PL 334 GS10: Tragedy and Philosophy
WL 325 GS10: Classical Mythology

Any Greek or Latin language courses leading up to the GK 203 or LT 203 also count as electives for the Classical Studies minor. So if a student begins the study of Greek or Latin at the College, he or she will take three language courses (101, 102, and 203) which will fulfill three of the six courses required for the minor
