Psychology Major (10 courses plus SSCI 224): The psychology major consists of eleven courses, including PSYC 100, SSCI 224, and PSYC 301, plus one course from each of the six concentration areas below, plus two additional psychology electives. Concentration areas include: Biological (PSYC 370, 373, 380); Clinical (PSYC 212, 312, 345, 360); Developmental (PSYC 231, 320, SSCI 220); Perception, Learning, and Cognition (PSYC 331, 333, 337); Social (PSYC 221, 321, 325); and Psychology in Context (PSYC 410, 420). As part of the Psychology discipline's learning outcomes assessment program, all majors are required to complete a standardized test of their knowledge of psychology (e.g., the Major Field Test in Psychology or other measure) during their first and senior years.
Psychology Minor : (6 courses): The psychology minor consists of six courses, including PSYC 100, SSCI 224, PSYC 301, plus three courses selected from the six concentration areas below. Only one course may be selected from a given concentration area. The concentration areas include: Biological (PSYC 370, 373, 380); Clinical (PSYC 212, 312, 345, 360); Developmental (PSYC 231, 320, DS 220); Perception, Learning, and Cognition (PSYC 331, 333, 337); Social (PSYC 221, 321, 325); and Psychology in Context (PSYC 410, 420).
