RELS 114 Introduction to Theology

RELS 321 Topics in Scripture

RELS 460 Advanced Seminar
1 course from each of the following three groups (only 1 may be a GS course):
Religious Studies majors are not allowed to count any of the above courses as satisfying the GS 1 requirement.
*Religious Studies majors may not double count toward the GS 10 requirement unless double majoring.
Religious Studies Major with Youth Ministry Emphasis (14 courses):
RELS 106 Introduction to the Bible
RELS 114 Introduction to Theology
RELS 280 Introducing Christian Traditions
RELS 290 Doing Theology Today
RELS 321 Topics in Scripture
RELS 433 Christian Ethics: Theology and Society
RELS 460 Advanced Seminar
RELS 494 Internship
2 non-GS RELS courses.
4 of the following: SSCI 220, PSYC 312, PSYC 325, COMM 122, COMM 222, LEAD 200, and LEAD 378; pending the approval of the Religious Studies Coordinator, other courses suited to youth ministry themes may also be selected. The internship course would incorporate special methods in youth ministry.
Religious Studies Minor (6 courses):
Required courses: RELS 106; one course from RELS 114, 320, and 433; two courses not designated as General Education.
Elective courses: Two from any RELS courses, including GENS 406 or 413.
Those students interested in future CCD work should take RELS 106, 114, 280, 332, and 360 for certification.
Religious Studies Minor in Liturgical Studies (6 courses):
Required courses: RELS 106, 114, 312, 316 and two non-GS RELS elective.
Religious Studies Teaching Minor (6 courses):
Required courses: RELS 106; one course from RELS 114, 280, 360, 433, and one course from RELS 221, 350, or 389.
Elective courses: Three from any RELS courses.
