Our programs
There are a variety of programs offered at the Children's Center. We offer a developmental
child care program and a
preschool program for 4 and 5 year olds.
The curriculum is constructed to meet the needs of each young child, offering a challenge and an adventure in learning. Learning experiences are carefully chosen to stimulate imaginations and foster creativity. Young children learn best through hands-on experiences.
Our rooms are divided into learning centers. At each of these learning centers, children can engage in a variety of experiences including games and puzzles, art, science and sensory, blocks, dramatic play, writing center and books (just to name a few!) The teachers carefully plan activities for each of these areas to stimulate the children's play.
Teacher education and psychology
Our program also serves as a laboratory setting for the
teacher education and
psychology departments. The Children's Center enables college students, pursuing a degree in education or psychology, real life experiences working and interacting with children.
Students are under the supervision of our professional staff. Many times, students are required by their professors to initiate specific learning activities with various groups of children. Our program is enriched by these students and what they offer to the children.
