Professional Profile
Marcella O’Malley earned a B.A from St Michael’s College in Vermont in 1984 and began a career in education. She worked in college admissions for three years before attending the National University of Ireland for post graduate work in English. Upon completion of a higher diploma in 1988, she returned to the US to teach English and work as Assistant Director of Admissions in a private boarding school in New York. She returned to college admissions a year later in Albany New York. She worked in Chicago Illinois as Associate Director of Admissions for St Norbert College from 1992 until 1996 when she moved back to Ireland. She joined the CIE in 2005.
Position Description
Reporting directly to the Director of the Center, this position designs, manages, and coordinates all the aspects of the Language Services (LS) program, including the Pre-Collegiate Language Institute, the Translating and Interpreting Service, and the Business/Community Outreach Language/Culture programs. Duties include day-to-day management of the services, budget, and marketing. The position also coordinates the evening adult non-credit foreign language courses (in French, German, Italian, Russian, and Spanish) at SNC.
