Professional Profile
Marcella O’Malley earned a B.A from St Michael’s College in Vermont in 1984 and began a career in education. She worked in college admissions for three years at St. Michael's College before attending the National University of Ireland for post graduate work in English. Upon completion of a higher diploma in 1988, she returned to the US to teach English and work as Assistant Director of Admissions in a private boarding school in New York. She returned to college admissions a year later at The Sage Colleges in Albany New York. She worked in Chicago Illinois as Associate Director of Admission for St Norbert College from 1992 until 1996 when she moved back to Ireland. Marcella worked as a marketing and enrollment consultant for a private educational consulting company from 2000-2005. She joined the CIE in 2005.
Position Description
The Office of International Programming advances the global diversity and intercultural competence of the St. Norbert College community focusing upon student transition, retention and transformation, enhancing the retention and growth of the international undergraduate and exchange student populations, recognizing the unique cross-cultural learning opportunities that these populations bring to the campus.
The Director works collaboratively within an office team reporting to the Director of the Center for International Education. OIP in partnership with ISSS and ESL enacts a dynamic concept of mission and objectives providing multi-levels of support to international students from entry into ESL until graduation from the college.
