A variety of careers are available to communication majors, including continuing education in graduate or law school. Recent graduates have pursued careers in public relations, media sales, broadcasting, advertising, high school and university teaching, personnel, college admissions and marketing.

In order to prepare students for careers, the program offers courses that blend theory and practice. Many students study communication because they aspire to work in public relations, marketing, special event planning and television. Others plan to complete graduate school before beginning their respective careers, or continue their education to pursue teaching in colleges and universities.
