Professional profile
Dr. Kokkeong Wong is an expert in international mass communications and the role media has played throughout history and the role of media in today’s conflicts.
His areas of research interest are media and globalization, U.S. media, and media and cultural developments in Southeast Asia, especially Singapore and Malaysia.
His Ph.D. dissertation was published in 2001 into a book entitled "Media and Culture in Singapore: A Theory of Controlled Commodification." He has also published research articles, book chapters and book reviews.
Dr. Wong has been on the St. Norbert College faculty since 1990. Born and raised in Malaysia, he has lived in the United States since 1979.
