November 2009 | Peace and Justice in a Modern World
The Rev. John Dear, Jesuit priest and peace activist will be the special guest on the November edition of “Conversations from St. Norbert College” television show, hosted by dean and academic vice president of the college, Michael Marsden. They will discuss working for peace and justice in a modern world.
Dear is organizer, lecturer and author/editor of twenty books on peace and nonviolence. He has an undergraduate degree from Duke University and holds two master’s degrees from the Graduate Theological Union in California. In 2008 he was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. Dear has been a long-time practitioner and teacher of nonviolence and has written numerous articles and given hundreds of talks on nonviolence. His work for peace has taken him to El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, the Middle East, the Philippines, Northern Ireland and more. Dear was presented the St. Norbert College Ambassador of Peace Award on Oct. 1.
