A very Happy New Year to all our readers!
I would like to introduce myself,
Matt Sullivan ’95, and
Bill Van Ess ’85, as new officers of your alumni board.
The St. Norbert College Alumni Board is here to serve the college and, most importantly, all St. Norbert students, past and present. New members who recently began three-year terms on the board are
Robert Carviou ’01,
John Connelly ’89,
Tim Delaney ’69,
Mary Harp-Jirschele ’76,
Kim Herring ’96 and
Theresa Roetter ’88.
We invite you to celebrate and even deepen your connection with the college community by continuing to show your St. Norbert PRIDE. PRIDE is an acronym that we have adopted to represent the opportunities that our alumni have to:
Promote the college;
Recruit prospective students;
Involve themselves and their families in their local St. Norbert community;
Donate to help meet the financial need of students; and
Employ well-qualified St. Norbert graduates.
If you would like to know more about how to make PRIDE part of your life in 2008, please visit the
PRIDE web site or contact the alumni house staff at
email@example.com, or by phone at (800) 236-3022.
During 2008 the alumni board will work towards integrating the PRIDE initiative throughout the entire college community, thereby creating a sustainable and dynamic platform for students, professors, staff, administration and alumni.
As the new president of the alumni board, I would like to share with you my own New Year’s resolutions. Apart from letting my two kids beat me occasionally in a game of Old Maid, I want to help current St. Norbert students prosper in their chosen field by facilitating consistent interactions with alumni.
Bill, your alumni board vice president, has resolutions to share, too:
“I am hopeful that 2008 brings an incredible year of unity at St. Norbert College between prospective, current and past students. It will take all of us working together to promote our PRIDE initiative and make it a success.
“The PRIDE committee I chair is called Promote and its purpose is to promote the college to prospective students and re-promote the college to our alumni who have not been back to visit lately. St. Norbert is an awesome college, and I will happily accept all of your help in promoting the benefits of a St. Norbert education to anyone you know.
“On a personal level, I would love to strive for a neater desk in 2008—you should see mine now! I’d also like to spend more time this winter with my family snowmobiling and cross-country skiing ... and this summer I’d love to beat my daughters at a game of HORSE!”
And here is
Jake Czarnik-Neimeyer ’77, director of alumni and parent relations:
“I am always interested in meeting fellow alumni and parents to hear their stories about St. Norbert College, and my first New Year’s resolution is right in line with one of my professional goals, which is to help alumni and parents feel even more connected to this outstanding community, and to promote the PRIDE initiative as a college-wide effort.
“My personal resolutions include spending more time with my family and being grateful every day for the little things that come my way.”
All three of us would like to send out our most sincere good wishes to you and yours for the new year. Have a fantastic 2008!
