Exploring “The Glass of Fashion and the Mould of Form”
A new exhibit by April Beiswenger (Theatre Studies) opens on campus this month.
In “The Glass of Fashion and the Mould of Form,” Beiswenger explores the juxtaposition of clothing and fabric. She says, “I want to discover if there is any disconnect between clothing forms and what we expect our clothing to be made out of – specifically, using the fabric of men’s work clothes to make women’s dresses and fancier women’s fabrics to make men’s work clothes.”
The exhibit runs Aug. 8-Sept. 7 at the Jeanne M. Godschalx Gallery, which is housed within the Bush Art Center.
