remembered among World Trade Center victims
The photo of
Andrea Haberman ’98 was the face of a stranger to columnist Anna Quindlen when she first saw it in the chaos following the events of September 11, 2001. But the image of the St. Norbert alum became a sacred object to the author and a focus for a response to the attacks that was published in Newsweek two years later.
On this fifth anniversary of 9/11 we hope you will find a few minutes to
read Quindlen’s article, to think of Andrea and to remember.
“Andrea Haberman is my holy card,” Quindlen wrote. “I don’t really know much about her except what her father told me on very short acquaintance. She was 25, working at the Chicago office of Carr Futures, came to New York on her first business trip and was on the 92nd floor of the North Tower when it was hit. She was from Wisconsin. She was engaged.
