Sr. Helen Prejean
,
Immaculée Ilibagiza
among upcoming speakers
America heard a compelling story of genocide, flight, survival, hope and forgiveness from
Immaculée Ilibagiza via her book, “Led by Faith,” and on CBS’s “60 minutes.” This week she speaks at St. Norbert.
Ilibagiza’s appearance follows hard on the heels of this week’s Heritage Days — five days of special events that include
Sr. Helen Prejean speaking on “Dead Man Walking: The Journey Continues,” and (tonight) a Killeen Chair lecture on Abbot Bernard Pennings from Dutch scholar
Jean van Stratum.
Next Tuesday, political scientist
Allen Wolfe will be the featured speaker for St. Norbert’s 2008 Norman and Louis Miller Lecture.
St. Norbert hosts many influential figures throughout the academic year, and weeks like this one give students, faculty and staff a chance to hear from experts with new and diverse perspectives to offer on current thinking. And it’s not just the college community that benefits: speakers of this caliber draw large audiences from the wider community, and alumni, parents and other friends of the college are always welcome to attend.
