Christmas treats at St. Norbert
Sparkling trees. A manger. Holiday music. It's Christmas time at St. Norbert College.
Walking across campus you cannot help but feel the Christmas spirit. The huge evergreens adorned with lights and stars, the illuminated manger in front of Main Hall, the charity drives and the abundance of musical productions all signal that the Christmas season is in full swing at St. Norbert College.
Over the years the College has hosted many beloved Christmas traditions. Every year the surrounding community looks forward to coming to campus for productions of "The Nutcracker" ballet and the stage version of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol."
"The Nutcracker" is produced by The Dance Company and tells the classic tale of a young German girl who discovers an enchanted kingdom ruled by a wooden Nutcracker Prince. Highlights from the show include the Waltz of the Flowers and the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. "The Nutcracker" runs at the Walter Theatre from Dec. 8-10, with performances at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are available at $17 and $14, and $8 for students.
"A Christmas Carol" is produced by Evergreen Theatre and faithfully tells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge as he is faced with his own mortality and the results of his miserly ways. The true meaning of Christmas is evoked as he discovers his inner generosity and benevolence. Performances will be held in the Walter Theatre from Dec. 14-17 at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 2:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. General admission tickets are $15, and student tickets are $7.
The College welcomes all who wish to partake in the holiday cheer. Tickets for these and other upcoming events are available from the box office at (920) 403-3950 or (800) 762-2699. View a full listing of
