Medical Withdrawals in Response to Emotional or Psychological Concerns

Please click on the link to access the Counseling Center policy on applying for medical withdrawals.

Please note that medical withdrawals granted through the Counseling Center result in grades of W being assigned for all classes in which the student is enrolled, and require the student to (a) withdraw from SNC, and (b) reapply for admission at a later date.

Please review the complete policy for more details, or contact Kurt Weber at 403-3045.

Counseling Center Village Virtual Pamphlet Collection

It's our pleasure to announce a link to the Counseling Center Village Virtual Pamphlet Collection! The Counseling Center Village is a consortium of college and university counseling centers sharing information. The Virtual Pamphlet Collection is a means through which "counseling centers can provide relevant information to students, faculty, staff, and even students' families back home. The time and effort that goes into developing the material goes further, as the virtual pamphlets reach an audience far beyond the originating counseling center."

QPR PowerPoint Presentation

Please click here to download the PowerPoint presentation used by Dr. Weber in his QPR presentations. In it, one can find information related to suicide prevention, including potential verbal, behavioral and situational cues. The presentation also includes useful information in making referrals to the Counseling Center or to outside agencies.

Welcome from the director
Welcome to the web page for the St. Norbert College Counseling Center.

For most students, the college years represent unique challenges. It is a time of significant personal growth and decision-making regarding one's values, interpersonal relationships and career and other life goals. This all occurs within a demanding academic environment, and often as one is away from home for the first extended period in one's life.

As a result, even the most successful student may experience considerable difficulty with these challenges. Problems often encountered by students include difficulties with academics, interpersonal relationships and sexuality, family problems, self-identity issues feelings of loneliness, low self-esteem, depression or anxiety.

The Counseling Center is designed to complement the College's academic mission by assisting students' personal and educational development through a variety of services. The goal of these efforts is to help students develop effective problem-solving and decision-making capabilities in order to make satisfying life choices, and maximize their capacity for continued emotional growth.

Our services are free, professional and confidential. Please feel free to contact me or a member of the Counseling Center staff to discuss any concern you may have.

Kurt Weber
Director of the Counseling Center
