The Cassandra Voss Center provides a vibrant and collaborative learning environment for the study of women and gender, and enables cooperation of all persons in the creation of more just and inclusive communities.

The Will to Change

The Cassandra Voss Center will host Billy Korinko ’09, former founding director of the SNC Men’s Initiative, and current lecturer and Ph.D. candidate in gender and women’s studies at the University of Kentucky. Korinko facilitated two programs focusing on masculinities, including the CVC’s first event in the "year of bell hooks." This first installment included special guest Troy Landry, violence prevention advocate & feminist. The panel explored questions related to masculinities, love, and creating tools for men to imagine spaces outside of dominant narratives about masculinity. The panel also shared excerpts from bell hooks' text of the same name: The Will to Change: Men, Masculinity & Love.
