Get involved with any of these celebratory events by joining our diversity committees. Each committee is responsible for planning, organizing, fund-raising and implementing the event. If you are interested in joining a committee and/or would like more information, please e-mail Bridgit Martin in the Office of Multicultural Student Services or call her at (920) 403-4023. Following are the celebrations and events we have planned.


Multicultural Student Services Welcome Reception for New and Returning Students of Color
August 27, 2007, 4:00-5:30 pm, Henrickson Dining Room. New and returning students of color take some time to get to know each other in the first week of classes. Faculty and staff are also welcome to attend this get together.

Asian Celebration
Committee Chair/Coordinator: Ling Lin and Bridget Cohen
October 15-17, 2007, Campus Center Lounge
Events during this week celebrate the Asian culture and provide many opportunities to learn about various Asian customs.

  • October 15, 5:00-7:00 pm, Talent Show and Dancers
  • October 16, 5:00-7:00 pm, Crafts Night, Origami and Calligraphy
  • October 17,  5:00-7:00 pm, Fashion Show and Asian Food

Native American Celebration

November 5-7, 2007, Campus Center Lounge
Celebrate many aspects of the Native American culture and heritage with music and speaking performances and crafts such as dream catchers and necklaces. 

Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration

We work closely with other campus departments to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. 

Soul Food Dinner/Black History Month

Soul Food Dinner February 23, 2008, Sensenbrenner Memorial Union Lounge We work closely with the Black History Month Committee to co-sponsor this celebratory immersion into the African American experience and culture.

Human Dignity Celebration
