Kasia Mills

Program Coordinator for Diversity and Inclusion

B.A., Hunter College-CUNY (Political Science and Anthropology)

M.A., University of Auckland (Development Studies)

Kasia joined the Office of Diversity Affairs in January 2017.  Throughout her professional career she has worked with people from many different countries, cultures, and from all different walks of life.  Her previous roles with not-for-profit organizations and government agencies in New York, New Zealand and Chicago have addressed issues such as U.S. community development and urban neighborhood revitalization, disability advocacy, foreign aid and immigration. Her academic background has emphasized people and their cultures, human rights, political relations and foreign aid.  Past research has addressed squatter settlements in the Pacific Islands, and refugee issues in Africa, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. She has also worked on a U.S. federal grant addressing financial opportunity and job trainings for lower-income families, and New Zealand foreign aid grants for countries in Southeast Asia, East Africa, India and South Asia.

In her role as Program Coordinator for Diversity and Inclusion, Kasia oversees the Safe Space Program coordination needs, provides meeting and event coordination, develops online and print communications, does web editing, and monitors budgets.

Having travelled to 16 different countries, she looks forward to being back in her hometown of De Pere, WI and working with the increasingly diverse community.

Her motto: Be kind.
