Professional profile
Emanuel has joined St. Norbert College this fall after completing his Ph.D. in economics at Kansas State University (KSU), with specializations in Macroeconomics, International Economics, and Econometrics. During the doctoral program, he taught at KSU and at University of Nebraska at Omaha (fall 2008). His research interests focus on interdisciplinary issues of economic growth and development, predominantly on the macroeconomic aspects, such as barriers to technological adoption and fiscal policy.
From 2001 to 2004, Emanuel worked in the Portuguese private sector as a consultant and as an EU certified instructor. During this period he elaborated and implemented EU projects for governmental and private institutions, co-authored the “Global Entrepreneurship Monitor: 2001 Portugal Executive Report”, and lectured courses in the areas of Innovation, Business Internationalization, and Management at Sociedade Portuguesa de Inovação.
In his free time, Emanuel enjoys playing the piano and traveling. His fascination with different cultures and socioeconomic systems led him to visit countries in Africa, Europe, North and South America. If you are planning to study abroad, stop by COF 329 to hear about his experiences.
