Professional profile
I have been an adjunct professor in the St. Norbert College department of teacher education since 1997. Previously, I taught in middle school, high school and college settings in Michigan.
My teaching objective is to create a learning environment that engages student in activities that will lead them to more creative approaches to teaching and learning. The main focuses of my courses include teaching an understanding of the relationship of the arts to the core curriculum and the importance of health education in the curriculum.
I am a recent graduate of Cardinal Stritch University’s doctorate program in the Advance of Leadership, Learning, and Service. My dissertation is titled “A Study of Influences of Nutrition, Physical Activity, Income, and Family Lifestyle Choices on the Overweight of Elementary-Age Children."
My research interests include the physical and emotional health of school-aged children. I am especially interested in working to combat childhood obesity.
