Requirements for approval to student teach
- Be in good standing in the teacher education program

- G.P.A. of 3.0 or greater in major, minor and professional education course work
- G.P.A. of 2.75 or greater overall
- Proficient rating or better on all building blocks within the certification
portfolio
- Completed at least 18 part A and 18 part B
human relations hours.
- Have evidence of possessing
dispositions to teach
- Have cleared all criminal background checks
- Passed the
Praxis I and Praxis II exams
- Complete and submit the
student teaching application

- Complete all sections of the application
- Print the completed application
- Submit to the education office in person during normal business hours
- Submit by Dec. 1 of the academic year (junior/third year) prior to the academic year (senior/fourth year) in which you will be student teaching
- Submit appropriate fees with application
- Get your receipt that indicates you have submitted a complete application and associated fees
