Minutes for Tuesday Sept. 30th

1.   Call to order at 4 pm

2.   Intros and Highs and Lows

3.     Common Reading

- "The Ethics of Climate Change" from Scientific America

    -Sarah handed out copies-- if you want to read it, http://www.sciam.com/article.cfm?id=the-ethics-of-climate-change

    -Read it for Tuesday's meeting (Oct. 7), we'll discuss it

4.   Defensive Driving-- class this coming Saturday Oct 11, one more date later in the semester

5.   Composting    

-cleanliness

-- how are we going to clean out all the bins?

-- sanitize in the dish room?    

-Still searching for composting containers    

-Katie and Sean working on the proposal still

6.   Service    

-Reforestation camp suggestion from Matt- in Suamico by the new zoo    

-Lost Dauphin Park-invasive species:   Matt was going to ask Hodgson about other places to do service    

-Point Beach?   We've done invasive species clean up and camping there before

7. Trail Cleanup    

-Saturday, OCTOBER 11TH 10:30 AM   Fox River Trail Cleanup    

   -Meet in the JMS parking lot (in front of 3M, by the loading dock)

-Be there or be square!

8. Added green programming ideas to a list LSE had put together for Emerging Leaders

-- Stacy has list if anyone is interested in seeing it

9.   Website    

-It's been updated!   

The officers have been changed, and the minutes are being uploaded to the website weekly.    

-Anyone interested in being our web designer?    

-Sean currently taking a web design class- can work on it if someone else wants to volunteer, too

10.   Grants    

-committee has decided to apply for smaller grants that don't have such a  complicated application process

-- making progress on those!
