About environmental science at St. Norbert College
Environmental science is an interdisciplinary field of study which relies on the principles of biology, chemistry and geology as well as the social sciences to explain complex natural systems.

The environmental science major is an actively-growing addition to the division of natural sciences at St. Norbert College. Our goal is to equip our graduates with the broad scientific foundation, environmental ethic and problem-solving skills necessary to engage in ecological research or management of natural resources. We strive to provide each student with the flexibility to succeed in postgraduate education or positions with government agencies or industry.

Why study environmental science?
Environmental science is an interdisciplinary major and is unique in requiring each student to conduct independent laboratory or field research leading to a final report (senior thesis). After successfully meeting this challenge, the graduating environmental science major is armed with evidence of his/her ability to solve a problem, obtain knowledge through the scientific method and follow a project through to completion.
