Howard Hughes Medical Institute Medical Fellows Program
HHMI grants support promising biomedical research scientists working outside the United States, medical and dental students seeking research training, and leading research scientists who are developing new approaches to undergraduate science education.
The Medical Fellows Program supports a year of full-time biomedical research training for medical and dental students. Support provided includes an annual stipend of $25,000, an annual fellow's allowance of $5,500 and an annual research allowance of $5,500.
Eligibility:
- Be enrolled in a U.S. medical or dental school
- Fellowship research may be conducted at any academic or nonprofit institution in the U.S., except the National Institutes of Health.
- Research may be conducted abroad if the fellow's mentor is affiliated with a U.S. institution.
