St. Norbert College’s Natural Science PRIDE program is designed to Promote, Recruit, Involve, Develop and Employ students in mathematics and computer science by attracting and retaining academically talented, financially needy students.

Support for the Natural Science PRIDE Award was provided by the National Science Foundation Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S-STEM) program under Award No. 0630863.

Candidates selected to be Natural Science PRIDE scholars will receive scholarships, Secrets of Success Seminars, support services, social events with faculty and peers and research project and/or internship opportunities. Awards range from $1,000 to $10,000 and are renewable if the recipient maintains a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Awards are competitive and recipients will be selected based on the applicant pool.

To be considered eligible for a Natural Science PRIDE Award, students must:

• Be U.S. citizens, nationals, refugee aliens or permanent resident aliens
• Be enrolled full-time in a computer science or mathematics degree program each semester
• Demonstrate academic potential or ability (and maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher at St. Norbert College)
• Demonstrate financial need by completing the FAFSA form
• Demonstrate evidence of leadership, service, integrity of character, strong motivation and communication skills, a spirit of unselfishness and respect for others
• Be willing to participate in Secrets of Success Seminars and mathematics and computer science social events

Candidates selected to receive a Natural Science PRIDE Award will be required to attend Secrets of Success Seminars each semester and math and computer science social events each semester.
