The St. Norbert College Diversity Leadership Award is an opportunity to recognize students who are committed to diversity and actively involved in bringing awareness to their community. This award is distributed on an annual basis in amounts ranging from $1,000 to $6,000. Awards are competitive and recipients will be selected based on the applicant pool. The Diversity Leadership Award is renewable for up to four years if the recipient maintains a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
Candidates selected to receive a Diversity Leadership Award will be required to assist in at least two diversity-focused campus activities or recruitment events per academic year, sponsored by the Offices of Admission and Multicultural Student Services.
To be considered for the Diversity Leadership Award, you must submit a completed application to St. Norbert College. The Diversity Leadership Committee will review applications based on the following criteria:
- the family's educational background
- the candidate's race, ethnicity and geographic background
- a demonstrated commitment to community service that has positively impacted diversity
- outstanding personal talents, leadership potential or exceptional co-curricular involvement throughout high school
NOTE: While the Diversity Leadership Award is a merit-based scholarship that seeks to recognize students for their accomplishments, a student’s financial need is taken into consideration in the decision-making process.
Students who are chosen as finalists will be invited to campus on Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, to interview with members of the Diversity Leadership Award Committee, explore campus and celebrate their accomplishments. Final decisions will be made in the week following the on-campus interviews and award recipients will be notified of their award by Thursday, March 10, 2011. |
