St. Norbert College Primary Merit-Based Scholarships | return to top

St. Norbert College knows that a college education is an investment in your future. We also know that scholarships and financial aid are critical to making college affordable. That's why at St. Norbert, over 96% of our undergraduate degree-seeking students receive scholarships or aid. St. Norbert offers merit-based scholarships that typically range between $5,500-$14,000 annually—that translates into $22,000-$56,000 over four years. Scholarship recipients must maintain full-time enrollment status and typically requires a specified minimum cumulative grade point average in order to continue receiving the scholarship. Because we are committed to ensuring you complete your education in four years, we offer scholarships, dispersed equally, for eight semesters.

Trustees Distinguished Scholarship
$64,000
Awarded to exceptionally talented students. The scholarship is awarded on an annual basis in the amount of $16,000 and is applied to tuition only. Students must maintain good social standing and a cumulative grade point average at St. Norbert College of at least 3.0.

Presidential Scholarship
$56,000
A competitive scholarship requiring strong college preparatory background. The scholarship is awarded on an annual basis in the amount of $14,000 and is applied to tuition only. Presidential scholars must be full-time students, maintain good social standing and a cumulative grade point average at St. Norbert College of at least 2.75.

John F. Kennedy Scholarship
$44,000
A competitive scholarship for full-time students with leadership potential; requires strong college preparatory background. The scholarship is awarded on an annual basis in the amount of $11,000 and is applied to tuition only. John F. Kennedy scholars must maintain good social standing and a cumulative grade point average at St. Norbert College of at least 2.5.

Van Dyke Award
$32,000
An award to full-time students to recognize quality academic preparation with participation in high school activities, community service projects and leadership roles. The scholarship is awarded on an annual basis in the amount of $8,000 and is applied to tuition only.

 


St. Norbert College Transfer Scholarship Awards | return to top 
Entering full-time transfer students selected by the Office of Admission on the basis of high school and post-secondary education records, standardized test scores and extracurricular activities. A transfer scholarship has a value of $6,000-$10,000 per year applied to tuition only. Transfer scholarship recipients must maintain a good social standing and a cumulative grade point average that is in-line with the amount of scholarship received as indicated below.

  • $10,000 per year  3.0 GPA
  • $9,000 per year  2.75 GPA
  • $7,000 per year  2.50 GPA
  • $6,000 per year  NA

 

St. Norbert College International Scholarship Awards | return to top

In order to internationalize its campus and increase its enrollment of well-qualified international students, St. Norbert College offers merit-based tuition awards to highly qualified international students who apply to study in a degree program at St. Norbert College. Award decisions are made after application documents are received and the applicant’s file is complete. Awards are renewable for up to four years based on the condition the student remains in good academic standing. No separate application is required for award consideration.  Recipients must maintain a good social standing and a cumulative grade point average that is in-line with the amount of scholarship received as indicated below.

  • George Washington Scholar:  $12,000 per year  3.0 GPA
  • Abraham Lincoln Scholar:  $10,000 per year,  2.75 GPA
  • Woodrow Wilson Scholar:  $8,000 per year,  2.50 GPA
  • Benjamin Franklin Scholar:  $5,000 per year,  NA

 


Special Scholarships/Awards | return to top

St. Norbert College Research FellowsAn opportunity to engage in research with faculty and staff over the course of two years.  These fellowships are designed for first-year students, to give the student an opportunity to explore research at the beginning of their college career.  International students are also eligible for this award.

St. Norbert College Music Scholarships 
Students who plan to major or minor in music, or simply enjoy music, are eligible to audition for a music scholarship.  Awards range from $500 to $2,000 and are renewable for three additional years. Recipients must be full-time student and participate in one of our 14 major ensembles seven out of eight semesters. International students are also eligible for this award.

St. Norbert College Rev. Ken DeGroot Multicultural Leadership Awards
$24,000-$40,000 
Students who are committed to diversity and actively involved in bringing awareness to their community, may be eligible for a Diversity Leadership Award between $16,000 and $40,000, disbursed over four years. Awards are competitive, based on the applicant pool. All accepted, non-international freshmen are eligible to apply.  Recipients must be full-time and maintain a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA at St. Norbert College.

St. Norbert College ALIVE Apprenticeships
ALIVE apprenticeships are unique opportunities for first-year students to grow in faith and leadership abilities, to meet new people with similar interests before classes even begin, and serve fellow students throughout the year. ALIVE Team apprentices are matched up with a student coordinator and assist in planning and running programs for the residence hall in which they live. The programs are intended to help students explore questions about values, beliefs, purpose and callings in life. Apprentices receive a $1,000 scholarship and an hourly wage.

This essay contest open to high school students in Northeastern Wisconsin.

Army ROTC
Three and four year ROTC scholarships are available to qualifying recipients. In addition, the college provides free room and board for all new ROTC scholarship recipients (free room is for room charges only and does not cover utility charges or other associated room costs). Free room and board benefit applies to on-campus housing only. The college does not waive tuition charges for recipients who take extra courses above a regular full-time load. For more information regarding Army ROTC scholarships at St. Norbert College, contact the Financial Aid Office or visit the Military Science and Army ROTC website. Scholarships are for undergraduate courses only. Scholarship ranges vary based on initial year of enrollment.

Wisconsin Academic Excellence Scholarship

Academic Excellence Scholarships are awarded to Wisconsin high school seniors who have the highest grade point average in each public and private high school throughout the State of Wisconsin. The number of scholarships each high school is eligible for is based on total student enrollment. In order to receive a scholarship, a student must be enrolled on a full-time basis by September 30th of the academic year following the academic year in which he or she was designated as a scholar. The value of the scholarship is $2,250 per year, to be applied towards tuition. Half of the scholarship is funded by the state, while the other half is matched by St. Norbert College. Eligibility must not exceed 8 semesters. Students must be full-time and have continuous enrollment from term to term.
